Associate Veterinarian
Hello, I'm Dr. Eddie Di Rago. I have worked with animals professionally for the majority of my career, starting as an animal attendant in 2010, then working as an adoption officer and veterinary nurse before becoming a veterinarian. These experiences have enabled me to develop a broad range of skills across different areas of animal care, which now help me provide the best treatment for animals from all walks of life.
I earned my Bachelor's degree with Honours from La Trobe University in 2011 and completed my Veterinary Science degree at the University of Queensland in 2019. After graduating, I undertook a rotating internship at the UQ Specialist Hospital in 2020, which further enhanced my practical veterinary knowledge and clinical experience.
Why I Chose This Profession
My passion for animal care – and working alongside others who share the same passion – is the driving force behind my choice of profession. I find immense joy in collaborating with fellow veterinarians and veterinary professionals to help animals.
My Favorite Part of My Job
Beyond the constant teamwork, the most rewarding aspect of my job is being able to diagnose, treat, and improve the lives of my patients. I have a particular interest in small animal medicine and diagnostic imaging, as these fields allow me to solve complex medical cases and provide high-quality care, no matter the type of animal or the difficulty of the case.
Personal Hobbies & Interests
At home, I share my life with two rescue greyhounds, Tommy and Juno, and I am fortunate to be married to another veterinarian. Together, we have two Arabian horses, Bobby and Cliff.
When I am not in the clinic, you will often find me riding my e-bike alongside my wife as she trains for endurance events with her horse. I also spend countless hours with my 3D printer, always working on new and interesting creations.
